CUBA AMIGA -
Erwin Schrott & Friends

In an extraordinary concert Erwin Schrott and Friends take the audience on a journey through the musical world and rhythms of Latin America.
In a unique fusion CUBA AMIGA delivers various rythyms - from bolero, salsa, flamenco, timba, rumba, cha cha, vahira, samba to tango.

Operatic star, bass-baritone ERWIN SCHROTT took the world by storm with his ECHO Klassik Award Winning Album ROJOTANGO.
Erwin Schrott's new show "CUBA AMIGA" is the logical continuation of "ROJOTANGO" and was inspired by the music and life of legendary tango performer CARLOS GARDEL, whom, like Erwin Schrott was born in Uruguay.

CUBA AMIGA was already a guest at:

Los Angeles Opera,
Bayerische Staatsoper Munich,
Konzerthaus Vienna,
Hofburg Vienna
Klassik am Dom Linz,
Finlandia hall Helsinki,

CUBA AMIGA ORCHESTRA

A dedication to Maestro Carlos Gardel

Eighty years ago the famous singer personality Gardel went on a concert  promotion tour throughout Latin America to present his movie "El día que  me quieras". It was planned to have this tour end with the movie premiere in CUBA as  a final climax, but Gardel's dream was defeated by his accidental death in Colombia.

Erwin Schrott follows in his concert metaphorically Gardel's trip through South America and he views the evening as "a thank you to Maestro Gardel and Cuba as a source of inspiration and birthplace of many unique styles of music and immortal songs".
